CARSON, Calif., Sept. 8 (UPI) -- Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder David Beckham is keeping his playing options open for after the Major League Soccer regular season ends in November.
Beckham, 34, appears intent on playing in Europe to keep sharp heading into next summer's World Cup finals. The former Manchester United player could return to AC Milan in Italy but isn't ruling out going back to England.
"Everyone knows I will be planning to come back to Europe," he said. "I don't know, there are a few options, put it that way."
Beckham also isn't taking a spot in World Cup competition for granted.
"The players have realized that nothing is certain about being in squads," he said. "Every player has to work hard to get the manager's attention. If you're playing well, you've got a chance. If you're not performing, you haven't."
