SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 7 (UPI) -- Juan Uribe was 3-for-4 with two homers and five RBI Monday to lead the San Francisco Giants to a 9-4 win over the San Diego Padres.

It was Uribe's eighth career two-homer game. Pablo Sandoval and Bengie Molina each had two hits and an RBI for the Giants, who remained two games back of Colorado in the NL wild-card race.

Brad Penny (2-0) made his second start for San Francisco since the Giants signed him last week. He held the Padres to two runs on three hits and a walk in seven innings.

Adrian Gonzalez and Nick Hundley homered for San Diego, which had won seven of nine coming into the game.

Clayton Richard (4-2) gave up six runs in four innings to take the loss.
