Todd Helton added a pair of RBI for the Rockies.
Ubaldo Jimenez allowed three runs on six hits and three walks in six innings. Rafael Betancourt (3-3) got the win for a perfect eighth inning.
Jonny Gomes hit a two-run homer and Scott Rolen drove in a run for the Reds, who had won 12 of their previous 14 games.
