MLS: D.C. United 2, FC Dallas 2 (tie)

FRISCO, Texas, Sept. 6 (UPI) -- Jaime Moreno's goal on a penalty kick in the 58th minute Saturday lifted D.C. United into a 2-2 Major League Soccer tie with FC Dallas.

The goal was the 129th in Moreno's career, an MLS record.

Marc Burch's goal in the 44th minute had boosted United into a 1-1 tie.

For FC Dallas, Jeff Cunningham scored in the 17th minute and David Ferreira in the 50th.

The tie vaulted United (7-5-12) into a tie with New England for third in the Eastern Conference with 33 points following the Revolution's 4-2 loss to Kansas City.

The Hoops (6-11-6) stayed second-to-last in the Western Conference with just 24 points.
