WASHINGTON, Sept. 6 (UPI) -- Ryan Zimmerman's game-ending two-run homer Sunday gave Washington a 5-4 win over Florida, snapping the Nationals' eight-game losing streak.
The homer, Zimmerman's 28th this season and only hit Sunday, followed shortly after a solo homer by Willie Harris leading off the bottom of the ninth.
Mike Morse hit a two-run eighth-inning single, and Elijah Dukes had two hits for the Nationals, who had not won since beating the Chicago Cubs 5-4 on Aug. 27.
The winner was closer Mike MacDougal (1-0).
Florida's Hanley Ramirez hit a solo homer.
Former National Nick Johnson had two hits and two RBI, while Chris Coghlan had two hits and one RBI, extending his hitting streak to 14 straight games for the Marlins, who had won four in a row.
The losing pitcher was Leo Nunez (4-5).
