
WASHINGTON, Sept. 6 (UPI) -- Hanley Ramirez hit a two-run homer and drove in three runs Saturday as the Florida Marlins defeated Washington 9-5.
The homer, his 20th, increased Florida's lead to 6-1 with two outs in the top of the fourth.
Brett Hayes hit a pinch-hit solo homer in the sixth.
Jorge Cantu had three hits and two RBI.
Cody Ross hit a two-run single.
Cameron Maybin had three runs and one RBI, while Chris Coghlan added three hits, increasing his hitting streak to 13 games for the Marlins, who have won four in a row.
The winner was starter Josh Johnson (14-4).
Josh Bard hit a two-run double, three others had one RBI, and Adam Dunn had two of the 10 hits for the Nationals, who have lost eight in a row.
The losing pitcher was starter Livan Hernandez, 7-10 overall and 0-3 with Washington.
