MLB: Detroit 5, Tampa Bay 3

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Sept. 6 (UPI) -- Brandon Inge's ninth-inning grand slam gave the Detroit Tigers their sixth straight win Sunday, a 5-3 comeback victory over the Tampa Bay Rays.

The American League Central-leading Tigers were behind 3-1 when Inge connected off reliever Russ Springer.

Aubrey Huff hit a solo homer for the Tigers.

Edwin Jackson (12-6) was the winner, yielding three runs and six hits in eight innings.

Springer (0-3) took the loss.

Evan Longoria hit a solo home run for the Rays, who got their other runs on a fielder's choice and wild pitch.
