CINCINNATI, Sept. 6 (UPI) -- Micah Owings drove in a run when he was hit by a pitch and Corky Miller had a sacrifice fly RBI in the 12th Sunday when the Cincinnati Reds beat Atlanta 4-2.
The Reds swept the Braves in three games and have won seven straight overall.
After Atlanta reliever -- and losing pitcher -- Kenshin Kawakami (7-11) hit Owings in the helmet with the bases loaded to bring in a run that snapped a 2-2 tie, Miller's fly ball to center drove in the insurance run.
Drew Stubbs had three hits, including a solo homer, and Darnell McDonald added an RBI single for the Reds, who have won 12 of 14.
Owings (7-12), one of baseball's best hitting pitchers, was the winner following two scoreless relief innings.
Closer Francisco Cordero struck out the side in the bottom of the 12th for his 33rd save.
David Ross hit a solo homer and Martin Prado had one RBI for the Braves, who have lost five straight.
