MILWAUKEE, Sept. 5 (UPI) -- Matt Cain limited the Brewers to two runs and four hits in seven innings Saturday in San Francisco's 3-2 win over Milwaukee.
Cain (13-4) threw 108 pitches with two walks and five strikeouts.
Closer Brian Wilson shut down Milwaukee in 1 2/3 innings, earning his 34th save this season.
San Francisco's Juan Uribe had two hits, including a solo homer.
Aaron Rowand and Randy Winn each drove in a run, while Eugenio Velez had two hits for the Giants, who have won eight of 11.
They moved to within 1/2 game of Colorado in the NL wild-card race.
Prince Fielder and Felipe Lopez had one RBI each for the Brewers, who had just six hits and have lost four of five.
Losing pitcher Yovani Gallardo (12-11) gave up three runs and six hits in six innings with three walks and six strikeouts.
