GAINESVILLE, Fla., Sept. 5 (UPI) -- Jeff Demps ran for 89 yards and two touchdowns Saturday in top-ranked Florida's 62-3 dismantling of Charleston Southern.

Quarterback Tim Tebow, the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner, played the first half and completed 10-of-15 passes for 188 yards.

Brandon James returned a kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown for the defending national champion Gators. Chris Rainey scored Florida's second touchdown of the night with a 76-yard run.

A.J. Toscano completed 18-of-31 passes for 157 yards with an interception for Charleston Southern.
