BOISE, Idaho, Sept. 4 (UPI) -- Kellen Moore threw for 201 yards and a touchdown Thursday, leading No. 16 Boise State to a 19-8 win over 14th-ranked Oregon.
Boise State built a 19-0 lead against the highest-ranked team ever to play on the blue turf at Bronco Stadium.
Moore opened the scoring with a 10-yard pass to Austin Pettis with 7:05 to play in the first half and the Broncos went on to a 13-0 halftime lead. D.J. Harper scored on a 1-yard run early in the third period to boost the Boise State lead.
Jeremiah Masoli prevented a shutout by scoring on a 5-yard run with 4:21 to play in the game.
LeGarrette Blount added a 2-point conversion run after Masoli's touchdown and then was involved in an ugly post-game incident.
Television cameras caught Boise State defensive end Byron Hout taunting Blount as the teams were leaving the field and Blount hit Hout in the chin with a roundhouse right. Hout was knocked to the ground.
Teammates and coaches then had to restrain Blount, who made a move toward a group of spectators. He attempted to break free, but was finally shoved in the direction of the locker room.
