MIAMI, Sept. 3 (UPI) -- Cody Ross finished with two RBI and six batters knocked in one run each in a six-run sixth Thursday, leading the Florida Marlins to an 8-3 win over Atlanta.
The victory followed a heated exchange between Marlins' teammates Dan Uggla and Hanley Ramirez after Wednesday's 8-7 loss to the Braves.
Ross had two hits Thursday, including an RBI double in the sixth. Chris Coghlan, Cameron Maybin and Brett Carroll each had two hits for the Marlins, who split the four-game series with Atlanta and pulled within four games of Colorado in the NL wild-card race.
Winner Ricky Nolasco (10-8) gave up three runs and seven hits in six innings with a walk and seven strikeouts.
Atlanta scored on Brian McCann's solo homer and RBI singles by Martin Prado and Chipper Jones. Prado had two of the seven hits for the Braves, who have split their last eight.
The losing pitcher was reliever Kris Medlen (3-5).
