
DETROIT, Sept. 3 (UPI) -- Placido Polanco's 10th-inning sacrifice fly Thursday boosted Detroit to a 4-3 win over Cleveland.
Thursday's win capped a three-game sweep.
Polanco's bases-loaded fly ball to center field broke a 3-3 tie, scoring Ryan Raburn with no outs in the bottom of the 10th.
Curtis Granderson belted a leadoff homer in the first inning and Clete Thomas hit a two-run seventh inning triple for the Tigers, who have won four of five.
Winner Zach Miner (6-4) pitched 2 1/3 scoreless relief innings.
Starter Nate Robertson gave up four hits in six scoreless innings.
Cleveland scored on Asdrubal Cabreara's single and Shin-Soo Choo's game-tying two-run double, both in the top of the eighth.
Kelly Shoppach had two of the eight hits for the Indians, who have lost five of six.
The losing pitcher was Rafael Perez (4-3).
Starter Fausto Carmona surrendered three runs and four hits in 6 1/3 innings.
