Milwaukee Brewers vs St. Louis Cardinals

ST. LOUIS, Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Albert Pujols and Matt Holliday homered for the St. Cardinals Tuesday in their 7-6 win over Milwaukee.

Holliday's three-run blast in the seventh inning proved to be the game-winner for the surging Cards, who have won eight of their last nine games and 15 of their last 18.

Holliday nailed a fast ball from Todd Coffey, who had come on to relieve David Weathers (3-5) with the score tied 4-4, after Weathers gave up a double to Skip Schumaker and then intentionally walked Pujols.

Joel Pineiro (14-9) won his eighth consecutive decision by holding the Brewers to four runs on seven hits in seven innings.

Casey McGehee had four RBI for the Brewers, including a three-run homer in the first inning.

St. Louis battled back to tie the game 3-3 in the fourth on Pujols' lead-off home run, an RBI single by Cody Rasmus and a run-scoring ground out by Yadier Molina.
