Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

SEATTLE, Sept. 1 (UPI) -- Seattle Mariners Associate General Manager Lee Pelekoudas has quit the American League club.
Pelekoudas, who resigned to pursue other opportunities, had been with the club for 30 years and a vice president for 12. He served briefly as interim general manager last year after Bill Bavasi was fired.
"I deeply appreciate the tremendous opportunity I've had to work with some great people in a great city and appreciate all that it has meant to me and my family for the past 30 years," Pelekoudas said in a statement.
