
ARLINGTON, Texas, Sept. 1 (UPI) -- Adam Lind homered twice and had a career-best eight RBI Monday in the Toronto Blue Jays' 18-10 win over Texas.
Rod Barajas had two home runs and finished with five RBI, while Vernon Wells and Aaron Hill had two hits and two RBI apiece and Josh McDonald scored two runs and knocked in one for the Blue Jays, who won the first time in their last four games.
Toronto starter Brett Cecil (6-3) gave up seven runs on nine hits with three strikeouts over five innings but still got the win.
Ian Kinsler had three RBI, Nelson Cruz hit a three-run homer and Chris Davis had two RBI for the Rangers, who also got an RBI each from Michael Young and Josh Hamilton in their second straight loss.
The setback increased Boston's lead over Texas to four games in the AL wild-card chase.
Rangers' starter Derek Holland (7-9) gave up 10 runs on seven hits in three innings to take the loss.
