MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 1 (UPI) -- Jose Morales had a pinch-hit RBI single in the ninth inning Tuesday to give the Minnesota Twins a 4-3 victory over the Chicago White Sox.

Michael Cuddyer homered twice for the Twins, who have won nine of their last 11 games and remain 3 1/2 games behind AL Central-leading Detroit.

Jon Rauch (2-0) got the win after pitching the top of the ninth.

Alexei Ramirez and Gordon Beckham homered for the White Sox, who have lost five in a row and nine of 10.

Jason Kubel singled off Matt Thornton (6-3) to begin the ninth. Brendan Harris singled an out later to put runners at the corners. After Carlos Gomez struck out, Morales got his first hit since July 11 to drive in the winning run.
