VIRGINIA WATER, England, Aug. 31 (UPI) -- Heath Slocum's clutch par-saving putt on the final hole of The Barclays Classic shoved him up 138 spots Monday in the men's world golf rankings.

Slocum dropped in a touchy 21-foot putt and ended up one stroke ahead of Tiger Woods, Padraig Harrington, Steve Stricker and Ernie Els and collected his first PGA Tour victory in nearly four years.

Slocum entered The Barclays ranked 197th in the world. He was ranked 124th by the scoring system that determines competitors for the PGA's playoff series and only the first 125 players are invited to The Barclays, which represent the first week of the playoffs. After the victory, however, he has moved to No. 59 overall.

Woods's finish kept him solidly No. 1 and Phil Michelson, who finished tied for 52nd, and Paul Casey, who missed the tournament with a rib injury, held onto their Nos. 2 and 3 spots.

But Stricker moved from sixth to fourth, pushing Kenny Perry to fifth and Henrik Stenson to sixth. Sergio Garcia is still seventh and Geoiff Ogilvy eighth.

Harrington re-entered the Top 10, going from 11th to ninth while Lee Westwood dropped one spot to 10th and Stewart Cink went from 10th to 11th.
