STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Aug. 31 (UPI) -- Vancouver Canucks free-agent center Mats Sundin has married Josephine Johansson, his girlfriend of two years, in a ceremony in Stockholm, Sweden, friends said.
Sundin, 38, and Johansson, 26, were married Saturday at the Church of Maria Magdalena with fellow hockey stars and Swedish celebrities in attendance, The Vancouver Sun reported Monday.
The 200 wedding guests included Canucks forward Daniel Sedin, free-agent NHL veteran Peter Forsberg and the retired Tie Domi, who had a repution as an "enforcer" when he and Sundin played for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
"I was Mats' babysitter on the ice for 13 years," Domi said. "Now, it is Josephine's turn to take over."
Sundin has yet to say whether he will return to pro hockey for another year. Last year, he waited until mid-December to sign with the Canucks.
"He's not going to wait as long" as last year, Sundin's agent J.P. Barry told Hockey News. "This (wedding) is an important event for him and then he's going to make some decisions after this."
