MLB: Cincinnati 6, Pittsburgh 3 (2nd game)

CINCINNATI, Aug. 31 (UPI) -- Brandon Phillips had a homer, two RBI and two runs scored Monday to lead the Cincinnati Reds to a 6-3 win and a doubleheader sweep over Pittsburgh.

Drew Stubbs added a two-run homer for the Reds, who won the early game 4-3 and have won seven of their last nine games.

Johnny Cueto (9-10), who was reinstated from the 15-day disabled list between games of the twin bill, allowed three hits and one run over five-plus innings.

Francisco Cordero earned his 29th save in 31 tries with a scoreless final inning.

Andrew McCutchen homered and Steve Pearce and Ronny Cedeno added an RBI each for the Pirates, who have lost five consecutive games.

Paul Maholm (7-8) gave up four runs and nine hits in five innings for the loss.
