NFL: Seattle 14, Kansas City 10

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Aug. 30 (UPI) -- Matt Hasselbeck threw two touchdown passes Saturday to lead the Seattle Seahawks to a 14-10 win over Kansas City.

Matt Cassel, acquired in an off-season trade with New England, started for Kansas City but stayed only three plays before hurting his leg.

Cassel was replaced by Tyler Thigpen, who completed 8-of-15 passes for 56 yards. Matt Gutierrez was 10-of-13 for 113 yards and two interceptions.

Hasselbeck's first pass attempt was picked off by Brandon Flowers, who returned it 28 yards for a touchdown. The veteran quarterback was 19-of-25 for 216 yards, while backup Seneca Wallace had 84 yards on 8-of-11 passing.
