NFL: N.Y. Jets 27, N.Y. Giants 25

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Aug. 30 (UPI) -- Rookie Mark Sanchez threw for 149 yards with one touchdown Saturday, leading the New York Jets to a 27-25 NFL pre-season win over the New York Giants.

The 31-yard scoring pass went to fellow rookie Chanci Stuckey and erased a 13-7 deficit with 6:50 left in the first half.

Overall, Sanchez completed 13-of-20 passes without an interception.

Stuckey caught four passes for 69 yards.

Erik Ainge tossed a 70-yard touchdown pass to Aundrae Allison.

Leon Washington gained 62 yards on nine carries, and Thomas Jones scored once for the Jets, who got their first pre-season victory in the annual pre-season "Battle of New York."

Eli Manning passed for 91 yards, one touchdown and one interception, and David Carr passed for 181 yards with two touchdowns.

Rookie Hakeem Nicks scored twice on six receptions for 144 yards, and Mario Manningham added four catches for 41 yards for the Giants (1-2).
