
SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 30 (UPI) -- Edgar Renteria knocked in five runs Sunday, four with a grand slam, rallying the San Francisco Giants to a 9-5 win over Colorado.
Sunday's victory gave the Giants a sweep in the three-game series between National League wild-card hopefuls.
The homer, Renteria's fourth this season, gave San Francisco a 6-5 lead with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning. Eugenio Velez and Fred Lewis had two hits and one RBI apiece while Ryan Rohlinger hit a two-run eighth-inning single for the Giants, who have won five of six.
The winner was reliever Brandon Medders (3-1).
Troy Tulowitzki led Colorado with four hits -- one a solo homer -- and three RBI. Todd Helton had three hits -- one a solo homer -- and Clint Barmes had one RBI for the Rockies, who have lost a season-high five straight games.
The losing pitcher was reliever Rafael Betancourt (0-1), who gave up the grand slam to Renteria.
