MLB: Minnesota 5, Texas 3

MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 30 (UPI) -- Brendan Harris, Mike Redmond and Nick Punto drove in runs in an eighth-inning rally Sunday that brought the Minnesota Twins a 5-3 victory over Texas.

Harris started the scoring by singling in Justin Morneau. Redmond sent home a run with a sacrifice and Punto drove in another with a bunt single.

Jason Kubel swatted a two-run home run for the Twins in the fourth inning.

Nelson Cruz hit a two-run homer and Elvis Andrus singled in a run for the Rangers.

The Twins remained 4 1/2 games behind American League Central leader Detroit, a 4-3 winner over Tampa Bay.

Reliever Jon Rauch (1-0) pitched a scoreless inning and got the win.

C.J. Wilson (4-6), victim of the Twins' eighth-inning rally, took the loss.
