MLB: Milwaukee 4, Pittsburgh 1

MILWAUKEE, Aug. 30 (UPI) -- Jeff Suppan gave up a run and eight hits in six innings Sunday, leading Milwaukee to a 4-1 win over Pittsburgh and a three-game sweep.

Suppan (6-8) departed after walking three batters in 94 pitches with one strikeout.

He added an RBI with a bases-loaded walk in the fifth.

Craig Counsell's only hit, a two-run single, capped a three-run fifth, and one of two hits by Casey McGehee was a solo homer for the Brewers, who bounced back from a three-game Cincinnati sweep.

Pittsburgh's run scored on a solo homer by Garrett Jones in the top of the third.

Lastings Milledge had three hits, while both Jones and Brandon Moss had two hits for the Pirates, who have lost five of seven.

Losing pitcher Ross Ohlendorf (11-9) surrendered four runs and five hits in six innings with two walks and six strikeouts.
