MLB: Atlanta 9, Philadelphia 1

PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 30 (UPI) -- Garret Anderson had three hits, including a three-run homer, Saturday to lead the the Atlanta Braves to a 9-1 victory over Philadelphia.

The game, which was delayed at the start, was called after the top of the eighth inning due to heavy rain.

Matt Diaz and Chipper Jones each hit a two-run homer, and Yunel Escobar added a solo shot for the Braves.

Derek Lowe (13-8) gave up one run on eight hits over 5 2/3 innings to get the win.

Chase Utley had three hits, including a homer for the Phillies.

Cliff Lee (5-1) gave up six runs on 10 hits over five innings, his shortest outing as a member of the Phillies.
