The Diamondbacks pounded out 16 hits in the slugfest.

Arizona sent 11 men to the plate in its big third inning, and the first seven reached base.

Ryan Roberts opened the inning with a walk off Yorman Bazardo (0-1), went to second on a single by Justin Upton and scored on a base hit by Mark Reynolds.

Miguel Montero then doubled home Upton, and Gerardo Parra's double drove in Reynolds and Montero.

A single by Brandon Allen moved Parra to third, and both runners scored on Romero's homer.

Max Scherzer (8-8) took advantage of the offensive outburst to get the win. He gave up five runs on five hits in six innings.
