TAMPA, Fla., Aug. 28 (UPI) -- Chad Pennington's 2-yard throw to Anthony Fasano produced the game's only touchdown Thursday, and Miami held on to defeat Tampa Bay 10-6.

Both offenses struggled in an exhibition game delayed in the second quarter by lightning. The contest took four hours to complete.

Pennington, who started all 16 games in leading Miami to a division title last year, completed 9-of-16 passes for 128 yards. Byron Leftwich was 9-of-17 for 100 yards in guiding Tampa Bay.

The only burst of offense came in the opening possession of the second half, during which Pennington drove the Dolphins 72 yards in five plays. The big play was a 54-yard throw to fourth-round draft choice Brian Hartline that carried Miami to the Tampa Bay 6. The touchdown throw to Fasano came two plays later.

Mike Nugent kicked two field goals for the Buccaneers in the first half, and Dan Carpenter hit one for the Dolphins.

Miami is unbeaten in its three preseason games. Tampa Bay has a 1-2 mark.
