CHICAGO, Aug. 28 (UPI) -- Alfonso Soriano's three-run homer capped a four-run eighth inning Friday, rallying the Chicago Cubs to a 5-2 win over the New York Mets.

Soriano's 20th homer this season, his third hit of the game, broke a 2-2 tie with one out in the bottom of the eighth.

Derek Lee and Aramis Ramirez both knocked in runs and Milton Bradley eased some of the boos he has heard at Wrigley Field this week with three hits for the Cubs, who had lost two of three.

The winner was normal closer Kevin Gregg (5-5). Carlos Marmol followed him with a scoreless ninth, earning his sixth save.

New York's Fernando Tatis and Omir Santos each had one RBI.

The losing pitcher was Brian Stokes (1-3).

The Mets have lost six of seven.
