CHICAGO, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- Ryan Zimmerman and Adam Dunn homered Thursday, boosting Washington to a 5-4 win over the Chicago Cubs.
Zimmerman's 27th, a two-run shot, gave Washington a 3-0 lead with no outs in the top of the first, following an RBI double by Christian Guzman.
Dunn led off the third with his 34th homer.
Guzman added an RBI ground out for the Nationals, who had just five hits but won for the second time in the three-game series.
Winner J.D. Martin (3-3) gave up three runs and four hits in five innings.
Closer Mike MacDougal earned his 14th save.
Chicago's Aramis Ramirez hit a two-run third-inning homer and an RBI single in the seventh among three hits.
One of two hits by Derek Lee was a solo homer for the Cubs, who had just six hits and have split their last four games.
The losing pitcher was starter Randy Wells (9-7).
