
NEW YORK, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- Ian Kinsler homered twice and drove in four runs Thursday, fueling a 7-2 Texas win over the New York Yankees.
Kinsler's 27th homer, a three-run blast, gave Texas a 3-1 lead with two outs in the top of the fourth and his 28th, a solo shot, capped the scoring with two outs in the eighth. He has five multi-homer games this season.
Chris Davis hit a three-run homer in the seventh for the Rangers, who won despite just six hits.
The winner was reliever Jason Grilli (2-2).
New York scored on RBI singles by Mark Teixeira in the first and fourth, respectively.
Johnny Damon also had two hits for the Yankees, who lost twice in the three-game series.
Losing pitcher A.J. Burnett (10-8) allowed three runs and just two hits in six innings with three walks and 12 strikeouts.
