MLB: N.Y. Mets 10, Florida 3

MIAMI, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- Daniel Murphy drove in three runs Thursday, sending the New York Mets to a 10-3 rout of the Florida Marlins.

His two-run double in the fifth inning gave New York a solid 7-1 lead.

Fernando Tatis and Angel Pagan hit solo homers. Jeff Francoeur added two RBI and Wilson Valdez had one. Anderson Hernandez contributed three hits and one RBI for the Mets, who broke a five-game losing streak.

The winner was starter Tim Redding (2-4).

Florida's Chris Coghlan had three hits, including two solo homers.

Dan Uggla hit a solo homer and Jeremy Hermida also had three hits for the Marlins, who won the first two contests in the three-game series.

Losing pitcher Anibal Sanchez (2-5) yielded four runs and eight hits in 3 2/3 innings.
