GREENSBORO, N.C., Aug. 23 (UPI) -- Ryan Moore sank a 9-foot birdie putt on the third hole of a playoff Sunday and won his first PGA Tour title -- the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, N.C.
Moore's birdie came against Kevin Stadler. Jason Bohn, who also entered the playoff, was eliminated on the first extra hole.
The three had tied at 16-under-par 264 in regulation. Bohn closed with a 62, Moore with a 65 and Stadler with a 66.
"I just want to soak it in a little bit. It is my fifth year on here on tour and it felt like an uphill battle a lot to get to this point," Moore said.
Sergio Garcia, who had shared the third-round lead with Chris Riley, shot a 70 and finished in fourth place at 265. Riley's 74 left him in a tie for 13th.
The tournament had undergone rain delays and the third round had to be completed Sunday morning before the golfers played the final round.
Moore won $936,000.
