
SEATTLE, Aug. 23 (UPI) -- Matt Hasselbeck threw two touchdown passes Saturday, boosting the Seattle Seahawks to a 27-13 NFL pre-season win over the Denver Broncos.
Hasselbeck completed 16-of-23 passes for 171 yards while playing the entire first half.
Wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh scored one touchdown nine seconds before halftime, giving Seattle a 14-10 lead at the break.
Houshmandzadeh finished with five receptions for 41 yards.
Rookie running back Justin Forsett caught seven passes for 58 yards.
Deon Butler caught two passes for 47 yards with one touchdown and added four kickoff returns for the Seahawks, who snapped a six-game pre-season losing streak against the Broncos.
Kyle Orton led Denver with 18-of-26 passing for 182 yards and had one touchdown and one interception.
Jabar Gaffney made five receptions for 55 yards for the Broncos (0-2).
