OAKLAND, Calif., Aug. 23 (UPI) -- Oakland's Jack Cust hit two home runs for four RBI and Landon Powell cracked a three-run homer Sunday in a 9-4 Athletics win over the Detroit Tigers.
Cust clubbed a three-run homer in the third inning and led off the sixth with a solo shot.
Cliff Pennington added a solo homer for the Athletics, who took two straight from the American League Central-leading Tigers.
Brett Tomko (3-2) was the winner, allowing a run and three hits with eight strikeouts in six innings.
Miguel Cabrera hit a two-run home run and Curtis Granderson had a solo homer for Detroit.
Losing pitcher Rick Porcello (10-8) gave up five runs and eight hits in 5 1/3 innings.
