ATLANTA, Aug. 23 (UPI) -- Brian McCan hit a three-run homer and knocked in five Sunday, leading Atlanta to a 7-5 victory against Florida.
His 16th homer staked Atlanta to a 3-0 lead with one out in the first.
Later, his two-run eighth-inning single snapped a 5-5 tie.
Reid Gorecki and Omar Infante had one RBI apiece, while Matt Diaz had four of the 11 hits for the Braves, who won twice in the three-game series between the National League playoff hopefuls.
Atlanta has won four of five.
The winner was reliever Peter Moylan (6-2).
Closer Rafael Soriano earned his 20th save.
Florida's Ronny Paulino hit a three-run fourth-inning double.
Cody Ross had two hits and one RBI.
A run scored on Paulino's second-inning double play ground out, Hanley Ramirez had three hits and two others had two hits for the Marlins, who have lost four of five.
The losing pitcher was Kiko Calero (2-2).
