
HOUSTON, Aug. 23 (UPI) -- Augie Ojeda hit a two-run single in a five-run first inning Sunday, helping the Arizona Diamondbacks avert a three-game sweep with a 7-5 victory over Houston.
Ojeda finished with two of Arizona's 14 hits. Ryan Roberts had four hits and one RBI.
Winning pitcher Jon Garland and two others also had one RBI, while Chad Tracy added two hits for the Diamondbacks, who broke a seven-game losing streak.
Garland (7-11) surrendered four runs and 10 hits in six innings.
Closer Chad Qualls earned his 23rd save despite giving up a run in the ninth.
Houston's Jason Michaels and Humberto Quintero hit solo homers. Lance Berkman had two hits and two RBI and Carlos Lee had one RBI for the Astros, who had won four in a row.
Houston starter Bud Norris (3-2) lasted just one inning, giving up six runs on six hits with three walks and one strikeout.
