CLEVELAND, Aug. 22 (UPI) -- Luis Valbuena's two-out home run in the bottom of the 11th Saturday handed the Cleveland Indians a 4-3 victory over the Seattle Mariners.
Travis Hafner also had a home run for the Indians, who had not homered in their last 10 home games. Matt LaPorta was 2-for-4 with a run scored in the win.
Aaron Laffey gave up three runs on eight hits in seven innings. Rafael Perez (2-2) got the win for recording the final out of the 11th.
Ichiro Suzuki (0-for-5) went hitless for just the 12th time in 115 games.
Russell Branyan hit a two-run homer, and Mike Sweeney and Josh WIlson each had three hits for the Mariners, who have lost six of their last nine games.
Doug Fister, in his first career road start, gave up three runs on six hits and a walk in 6 1/3 innings. Randy Messenger (0-1) gave up the 11th-inning homer.
