NFL: Minnesota 17, Kansas City 13

MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 21 (UPI) -- Brett Favre made a brief appearance with his new team Friday and Tarvaris Jackson threw for two touchdowns in pushing Minnesota to a 17-13 win over Kansas City.

Favre signed with the Vikings this week, ending his second retirement in two years. The all-time NFL passing leader was given the start and he completed a lone pass in four attempts for 4 yards.

Jackson came in in the first half and hit Visanthe Shiacoe with a 13-yard touchdown pass that brought the Vikings within 10-7 at intermission. The scoring throw ended a 92-yard, 15-play drive.

Jackson then gave the Vikings a 14-13 lead when he hit Darius Reynaud with a 64-yarder with 4:03 to play in the third period. Taylor Melhaff added a 29-yard field goal in the fourth period to account for the final score.

Jackson completed 12-of-15 passes for 202 yards.

Minnesota has won both its pre-season games and Kansas City is 0-2.
