CLEVELAND, Aug. 21 (UPI) -- Josh Wilson and Jose Lopez both homered during a four-run fourth inning Friday and Seattle used a 14-hit attack to roll past Cleveland 9-4.
The Mariners took a 7-1 lead through four frames and easily held on while producing six extra-base hits.
Luke French (3-3) got the win in his fourth start since joining the Mariners in a trade July 31. He made it through six innings, giving up three runs on eight hits while striking out six.
Bill Hall helped stake Seattle to a 3-1 lead with an RBI single in the second and a sacrifice fly in the third, after which the Mariners broke the game open in the fourth.
