MLB: Cincinnati 2, San Francisco 1 (10)

CINCINNATI, Aug. 20 (UPI) -- Drew Stubbs hit a solo homer in the bottom of the 10th Thursday to give the Cincinnati Reds a 2-1 win over the San Francisco Giants.

His first major-league homer was his only hit in the contest.

Laynce Nix hit a sixth-inning solo homer, ending a 19-inning scoreless streak for the Reds, who had lost five in a row.

The winner was closer Francisco Cordero (2-3).

Starter Aaron Harang yielded a run and six hits in seven innings.

San Francisco's run scored on Harang's fourth-inning wild pitch.

Pablo Sandoval and Randy Winn had three hits apiece for the Giants, whose three-game winning streak ended.

The losing pitcher was reliever Bob Howry (1-6).

San Francisco starter Matt Cain gave up a run and eight hits in eight innings.
