
PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- Jayson Werth hit two solo homers, and Cliff Lee pitched a complete game two-hitter Wednesday in Philadelphia's 8-1 win over Arizona.
Werth had three of Philadelphia's 12 hits, and his homers, in the fifth and the seventh, gave him 27 this season.
Ryan Howard hit his 31st, a three-run shot in the fifth.
Chase Utley hit a two-run, third-inning homer for the Phillies, who can cap a three-game sweep with a win Thursday.
Lee is 4-0 since joining the Phillies in a trade with Cleveland last month.
He surrendered a run and two hits with no walks and 10 strikeouts.
Arizona's run scored on Stephen Drew's fourth-inning sacrifice fly.
Chad Tracy and Alex Romero each had one hit for the Diamondbacks, who have lost four in a row.
Dan Haren (12-8) took the loss.
