ARLINGTON, Texas, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- Joe Mauer extended his hitting streak to 15 games with a pair of home runs Tuesday in the Minnesota Twins' 9-6 victory over the Texas Rangers.
Mauer went 3-for-5 and raised his batting average to .383.
Delmon Young homered and had four RBI for the Twins, who ended a three-game losing streak.
Jesse Crain (4-4) got the win in relief of Carl Pavano. Joe Nathan picked up his 30th save.
Jason Jennings (2-4) took the loss in relief.
Ian Kinsler hit a three-run homer for the Rangers.
The Twins scored four runs in the top of the sixth to tie the score 5-5. Texas picked up a run in the bottom of the inning, but Minnesota tallied three runs in the seventh, including Mauer's leadoff home run, and one in the eighth on a Mauer RBI single to put the game away.
