NEW YORK, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- Brian McCann capped an eight-run second inning with a three-run homer Wednesday as the Atlanta Braves trounced the New York Mets 15-2.

Atlanta, which had 18 hits, reached its season-high run total.

Matt Diaz drove in four runs, including the first two of the big second inning. He also hit a two-run homer in the sixth after Adam LaRoche's solo blast.

The game marked the second straight between the teams to include an eight-run inning. The Mets had one Tuesday when they beat the Braves 9-4.

Omar Infante, one of four Braves with three hits, drove in three runs.

Jair Jurrjens (10-8) allowed two runs on eight hits in six innings in his first victory since July 22.

Bobby Parnell (3-5) made his third career start after appearing 60 times out of the bullpen in the past two seasons. He gave up nine runs and nine hits in three innings.

The Braves remained four games behind Colorado in the National League wild-card chase.
