DETROIT, Aug. 18 (UPI) -- Alex Avila hit a solo home run and Miguel Cabrera had a two-run single in a four-run eighth Tuesday to lead the Detroit Tigers to a 5-3 win over Seattle.

Rookie Rick Porcello, making his first start since serving a five-game suspension for his role in a Fenway Park fight Aug. 11, got a no-decision after going 5 2/3 innings and giving up a run on four hits with eight strikeouts.

Bobby Seay (3-2) got the win.

Josh Wilson went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and scored twice for Seattle, which has lost four of five. Ken Griffey Jr. and Russell Branyan each drove in a run and Ichiro Suzuki was 4-for-5 for the Mariners.

Mark Lowe (1-6) blew his fifth save of the year and took the loss after giving up four runs on three hits while recording just one out in the eighth.
