MLB: San Francisco 10, New York Mets 1

NEW YORK, Aug. 17 (UPI) -- Aaron Rowand was 4-for-5 with a solo home run, two RBI and two runs scored Monday to pace the San Francisco to a 10-1 win over the New York Mets.

Randy Winn had three hits and scored twice and Nate Schierholtz hit a two-run double for the Giants.

Winning pitcher Joe Martinez (3-1) allowed just one run on five hits with two walks over five innings.

Gary Sheffield drove in the lone run and Cory Sullivan had two hits and scored for the Mets.

Livan Hernandez (7-8) took the loss after giving up six runs on 11 hits in 5 1/3 innings.
