Murray wins Rogers Masters

MONTREAL, Aug. 16 (UPI) -- Andy Murray outlasted Juan Martin del Potro in a 2-hour, 44-minute battle Sunday and won the Rogers Masters in Montreal.

The Scot won (4-7), 7-6 (7-3).

It was the 13th ATP singles title for Murray, who will moved to No. 2 in the world behind Swiss star Roger Federer in the official rankings.

Murray is 5-1 in final matches this year.

Del Potro, of Argentina, had reached the final with with wins over Spaniard Rafael Nadal and American Andy Roddick.

Murray won $443,500.
