PHOENIX, Aug. 16 (UPI) -- Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Hiroki Kuroda, who was hit in the head by a line drive in a game against Arizona, was released from a hospital Sunday.

A CT scan at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Phoenix showed no fractures or bleeding, mlb.com reported.

Kuroda was struck above his right ear by a drive off the bat of Arizona's Rusty Ryal in the sixth inning Saturday. The pitcher fell to the ground but did not lose consciousness. He was taken St. Joseph's and kept overnight for observation.

The Diamondbacks, who ended up winning the game 4-1, had just two hits and no runs off Kuroda before he was taken from the field.
