NFL: Minnesota 13, Indianapolis 3

INDIANAPOLIS, Aug. 14 (UPI) -- Chester Taylor ended the first possession of the game with a 5-yard touchdown run Friday, and Minnesota plodded to a 13-3 exhibition win over Indianapolis.

Neither side scored during the second half, during which the teams combined for nine punts, a missed field goal and an interception.

Sage Rosenfels led Minnesota 72 yards in 11 plays after the opening kickoff, and the Vikings also got field goals of 35 and 36 yards from Ryan Longwell.

Indianapolis scored on a 42-yard field goal by Shane Andrus.

Rosenfels completed 10 of 13 passes for 91 yards without an interception. Indianapolis quarterback Peyton Manning played in only one series. He threw two passes, completed one for 6 yards and was sacked three times.
