SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y., Aug. 14 (UPI) -- Jockey Eddie Maple, who earned $105 million in 4,398 victories before retiring in 1998, entered horse racing's hall of fame in New York Friday.

Maple led the induction class that also included three-time Eclipse Award-winning trainer Bob Baffert, steeplechase trainer Janet Elliott, former Horse of the Year Tiznow, champion filly Silverbulletday and steeplechase horse Ben Nevis II.

Baffert, 56, has earned more than $135 million in his career, which includes eight Triple Crown race wins, seven Breeders' Cup victories and 10 champions.

Silverbulletday earned $3,093,207 with 15 wins in 23 lifetime starts.

Tiznow, the only horse to win the Breeders' Cup Classic twice, won eight of 15 career starts and earned $6,427,830.

Maple won the Belmont Stakes twice and was in the saddle for Secretariat's last race, a win in the 1973 Canadian International at Woodbine.

Elliot joins retired jockey Julie Krone as the only women elected to the hall in Saratoga and is the first female trainer.

Ben Nevis II is the third U.S. horse to win the Grand National, joining the other two winners, Battleship and Jay Trump, in the hall
